HELLO!

I’m Markie

ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE:

I am a certified Interior Designer currently living the beautiful state of Maine. I studied Interior Design at Syracuse University, and have professional certification (NCIDQ) as well as LEED (sustainability) certification. I have been working professionally in the interior design world for the last 12+ years in New York City, Boston, and Maine. My career has provided me with varied experiences, such as designing commercial office spaces, restaurant and hospitality work, non-profit work, high education, and lot and lots of residential - from new builds to renovations in historic brooklyn townhouses. I have had the privilege of working under truly amazing architects and designers, who have contributed to my education and success.

ABOUT MY CREATIVITY:

While I have been working full time as a designer, I also have cultivated and explored my love of art and creating - from painting and drawing, to fiber arts to 3D! I grew up in a really creative household, and my love of art and design is something that sets me apart. I love to incorporate unique and creative touches into each project I work on.

ABOUT ME AS A PERSON:

I am a down to earth, dog loving, new mom, who also gets how “real” things can get. I don’t take myself too seriously, and I pride myself on being a kind, honest, and flexible person. I truly believe that kindness, respect, and creativity is crucial in this industry. With that being said, I always aim to be my client’s advocate and cheerleader, and work with all parties to achieve a unified and successful project.

A room should never allow the eye to settle in one place. It should smile at you and create fantasy.
